06/02/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Grab the nearest leash and come on down to pick up your perfect companion! Wow, is this dog the tippy top of the fantastic curve. The behaviorist agrees, awarding our love muffin with the highest accolades for her gentleness around dogs and people and her willingness to share her food and treats. She is an excellent snuggler, house trained, and a dream to walk on that leash you’re about to attach to her. According to her former owner–who had to surrender her due to landlord issues–Topaz knows “sit,” “lie down,” “give paw,” and “back up” (how fancy is that??), and, he added, “she likes to be pet, hugged, has lived with large dogs, she is quiet and calm but has energy for long walks and play…” The one trait that assures us she is a dog angel rather than straight up unearthly is she apparently isn’t great with cats. (Or rodents. But then, so few of us are.) So stop staring at that leash you’ve bought and bring it on down to walk away with the shelter’s gem!
