07/09/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Roy came in as a stray, so his past behaviors in a home are unknown. During SAFER Roy came into the assessment room calm and relax, allowed all handling items to be conducted, on sensitivity his body was tense but showed no aggression. Roy was distracted during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment on food item was a bit of pressure when attempting to remove his head out of the food bowl, toy item he showed no interest, and rawhide item he takes away body between the handler and the item with stiff body posture. So the department feels he can be suitable for an “experience” adopter. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, his tail is between his legs, body tense, mouth closed. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (need coaxing to approach.) He is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are back. Food: 2. Dog follows the dish with his tail down, body soft. Dog lifts head after a bit of pressure from hand to cheek. Toy 1: No interest. Rawhide: 3. Dog takes rawhide away, keeps a firm hold. His body is stiff. Dog-to-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Roy greets the other dogs appropriately and is sexually motivated but does respond to correction from an assertive female.
