05/16/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper Dog:A0983607 Peaches only lived with adults and was reported to be relaxed, playful and respectful towards everyone in the household. The owner did mention that Peaches did play with one child who lived next door and the owner stated Peaches was gentle towards the child. Peaches also lived with another dog and the owner stated that Peaches can be tolerant, but recently had an incident with the other dog which resulted in a bite. The owner stated Peaches isn’t bothered when the owner touches her food bowl, or when toys and treats are taken away from her. It was also mentioned that she is successfully housebroken and crate trained. At intake it was noted that Peaches had high energy, but she allowed all handling. During SAFER Peaches was very active, but sociable towards the assessor. She did appear to be a bit nervous during some of the handling, and became stiff and uncomfortable during the paw and flank squeeze. Peaches was relaxed during the tag interaction, and did not show any interest in any of the resource items. During the dog-dog interaction, Peaches approached the helper dog with her tail high and her body stiff. Due to the behaviors seen during the SAFER as well as the previous pet conflict, the department feels peaches would be best suited for an experienced adopter with no children and no other animals. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, her tail is down, body soft, mouth closed, lip long, ears back, lip lick and trembles. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1: 3. Dog head flips while pulling back paw. Flank squeeze 1&2: 3. Dog head flips while moving hip away. Food: Inconclusive, dog is not eating. Toy: 1. No interest. Rawhide: 1. No interest.
