11/02/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
11/02/15 11:33 Basic Info: Moet A1056648 is a 4yr old female white and gray brindle AMPBT mix who was given to the owner by a friend 4yrs ago and is being surrendered due to the owner moving to where pets aren’t allowed. Moet currently has no known health issues/injuries and was last seen at a veterinarian in 2014. Socialization: Moet is friendly/outgoing with strangers. She’s lived with children ages from 1-4yrs & a 10yr old. Moet is gentle, exuberant and doesn’t know her own strength/size and will sometimes knock down the children during play. When Moet sees a dog on the street she’ll bark at them to engage in play. She’s never been around cats. Moet has never bitten an animal. She snapped at a family member who was playing too roughly with her and it was their first time meeting (she didn’t make contact or break skin). Behavior: During fireworks/storms Moet will bark and run around the home trying to find the source of the noise or get away from it. She isn’t bothered by the following: having her food/food bowl, toys/treats touched/moved, being moved off of furniture, being held/restrained, being disturbed while sleeping/resting or being brushed. Moet is scared of baths and will tremble. She bites the nail clippers when having her nails trimmed. She’s friendly when people come over or approach the owner. For A New Family to Know: Moet is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, shy of large men with beards, confident, pushy and excitable with a very high activity level. The owner loves how protective Moet is of the children. She loves to play with her rope. When the owner is home Moet follows them around. She enjoys ball & rope toys, also plastic bottles. She plays games of fetch, chase, wrestling & tug. She’s an indoor mostly dog who’s walked 2x a day where she pulls very hard on the leash, sometimes she’s walked without a leash and she’ll wander some but comes when called. Moet eats dry Beneful dog food 2x a day. She likes bacon treats and a mint ball treat. She’s house broken but will have an accident if you take too long to take her outside. When left home alone Moet’s well behaved. Intake Behavior: Moet had a loose wiggly body & allowed all handling. She allowed to be scanned (-), collared & taken pictures of including positioning her during her photo session. Moet entered her kennel on her own with ease.
11/04/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Where was she when the Mets lost the World Series? They could have used her, as she’s an awesome fielder! Keeping her eye on the ball, running quickly after it, she brings it back and drops it at my feet for another throw. If I didn’t pick it up right away she would move it a bit as if to remind me it’s there for me to throw. What a fun and smart girl she is! Surrendered by the only family she’s ever known as they are moving where she isn’t welcome, we’re told she’s friendly and outgoing to strangers, lived and played gently with a 1, 4, and 10 year-old (although sometimes due to her size will knock them down), barks at dogs on the street wanting to play, is scared of baths, enjoys balls and rope toys, loves to play, and likes bacon treats, and is housetrained when walked 2 times a day. Indeed, Moet showed off her housetraining skills, and could benefit from some leash training as she pulls hard on leash. Her wagging tail, sparkling doe-like eyes and friendly demeanor won my heart. Moet has a gorgeous soft coat, is the perfect weight for her size, and is a fun-loving playful girl. A proven family dog (and outfielder!) she’s hoping to find a new active and fun family to love. If you’re looking for a player for your home team, look no further — you’ve found her!
11/04/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Moet pulls a bit on the leash. She was excited but very interested in interacting with handler during assessment – jumped up. Moet was excited during some of the handling items, but had soft body language. She was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. Moet was not interested in toys. Moet was surrender to us. Her previous owner described her as friendly, affectionate, playful, shy of large men with beards, confident, pushy and excitable with a very high activity level. 11/04/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
When off leash with other dogs Moet is uncomfortable. When greeted from behind she gives the helper dog a strong correction. Then again when the helper dog nears her she again gives a strong, loud correction. 11/5 update: Moet greets a female with a loose body and is more interested in interacting with her. However, when play is solicited she again offers a loud, strong correction.
