11/02/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
11/02/15 16:13 Priest A1056658 is a 3yr old male gray Am Staff who was left with a neighbor 2 wks ago and they are no longer able to keep him due to a child in the home developing allergies. They stated Priest is good with the 1 & 10yr olds in the home. Priest appears to be house trained, slept on a dog bed in the adults room and ate dry Pedigree dog food 2x a day. If Priest isn’t taken out he’ll jump into the tub and “go”. During intake Priest was very serious and seemed to be very aware of his surroundings watching our every move. Priest tensed up when I approached so the temp owner assisted with scanning (-), collaring and placing Priest into the kennel to minimize his possible stress. When being transported from the kennel to the van Priest allowed to have a leash put on him but struggled to be placed into the transport van.

11/06/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: A big, beautiful Bullie with a heart of gold and a million dollar smile, Priest is well and truly ‘my kind of dog,’ but I seriously doubt anyone could resist his affectionate and fun-loving personality for long! When I found him lying curled up at the very front of his kennel, uninterested in treats and unresponsive to my attempts to draw him out of his shell, I figured that even if we weren’t going to be friends, he could at least stretch his legs on a short walk… well boy, did I figure wrong! Like so many lost or abandoned pets, Priest was just feeling a bit unsure of his new ‘home’ and he didn’t want to give his heart away until he knew I could be trusted. A few minutes of off-leash wandering, some gentle compliments and a thorough behind-the-ear scratching and suddenly the floodgates opened and I found myself with 70 pounds of smoochy tail-wagging loverboy standing right on my lap. It turns out that giving jumpy hugs and tons of kisses is Priest’s speciality and (despite his dire need of a manicure, yeowch!) I can’t imagine anywhere I’d rather be than held tight in the arms of this bouncy boy. Priest walks well on leash, takes care of his business outdoors and meets all other dogs with a happy grin and a wagging tail, and once he really opens up there’s no end to the depth of his love and gratitude. A big guy with an even bigger heart, he’d be the perfect match for your active family so run, don’t walk, to our Manhattan Care Center and ask to meet Priest, the lovable lug you never knew you couldn’t live without!
