Cute little Mia is all ears and attitude, a middle-aged Princess who’s spent years perfecting her unique combination of snuggly sweetness and sassy opinions and while she may not seem the most welcoming pooch in her kennel, no one is more excited to get outside and socialize than she! Once we hit the yard her happily wagging tail says it all and she smiles and ‘chats’ with other dogs while skittering up and down the length of the pen, coming when called for some brief lap snuggles before bouncing off again in search of new adventures. Mia’s in perfect physical shape with a hearty appetite to match and she snarfled up a whole bowl of food in her den while still leaving room for more treats, lightly sniffing them with her long snout before nibbling each one gently from my hand. While she absolutely hates the leash and will do her darnedest to avoid wearing it, once lassoed Mia walks like a champ and with patience and practice I hope she’ll learn to associate the sight of the rope with all the fun outdoor stuff she enjoys so much. Surrendered because her homeless owner was no longer able to care for her, Mia has clearly been well-loved and now she has a chance to become well-socialized too. If you’ve got the experience, time and heart to give Mia the good life she deserves then hurry in to our Manhattan Care Center and ask for her by name, you’ll both be glad you did!
