PROFILE :
What kind of home do you think would be best for this dog? Home with a family.
Is there anything else we should know? Likes playing with stuffed toys and empty plastic water bottles.
Basic Information:
Max is a 9 month old cocker spaniel, retriever mix. He was surrendered because his owner felt she could not commit to the time needed to train and care for a puppy. She has had Max since April 2015. The most recent vet care he received was 2 weeks ago. The two things his previous owner liked most about him are: he is nice, friendly and loveable.
Social Life & Personality:
Around children Max is relaxed and playful and when he plays he is exuberant but gentle. Max is also relaxed and playful around other dogs and when he pays he is exuberant. Max is not house-trained, his owner stated she did not know how to teach him, he has “accidents” daily. Max was kept indoors only and has a high activity level. He can be described as playful, confident, excitable, affectionate, independent and friendly.
Behavior Issues:
Max is friendly if someone touches his food bowl, takes his treat or toy while he is eating or playing. He is also friendly if he is pushed off the furniture, given a bath, has his coat brushed, held, if an unfamiliar person approached the home or his previous owner or if he is disturbed while sleeping.
For a New Family to Know:
Max knows how to sit. For exercise he went on brisk walks. He loves squeaky toys and to play fetch, chase, and tug. When his owners were home he would tend to follow them around and liked to be in the same room as them. When left alone he is well-behaved. He ate dry dog food and slept on the floor at night.
