07/14/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: The first thing I noticed about Jesse was her little white toes– she is chocolate brown all over except for her toes, such a pretty and unique dog. Her coloring combined with her floppy ears just makes her even more adorable. Jesse is a sweet little mini-pittie with a spring in her step who walks like she’s on a mission! Jesse’s hobbies include eating grass, sitting for treats, and receiving ear scratches happily. Jesse doesn’t love cats, but she seems curious about other dogs. She knows how to sit and stay, and walks on the leash like a dream. According to her previous owner who had to give her up, she is housetrained and knows several tricks. Jesse is no spring chicken, but her energy and demeanor are calmer than that of a young puppy. Come and meet her today! A volunteer writes: I wasn’t too surprised to read that Jesse’s owner called her “lazy, but playful.” In fact, I chuckled when I read it. I prefer to think of her as chill or mellow, rather than lazy, but I get where her owner was coming from. Within a few minutes into our walk, Jesse took it upon herself to climb onto a ledge and sprawl out. She looked so comfortable, that I climbed up on the platform too and stretched out next to her. I have to admit, that was a first for me-and while I laid there looking at the clouds, she casually watched passersby, and would occasionally sneak a lick to my arm or face in. When Jesse isn’t relaxing, she is quite a playful gal. Her owner said she is playful with children, friendly toward strangers, loves playing tug and fetch, and is a dog park regular-going at least twice a week. She has proven herself to be very housetrained, as she always keeps a clean kennel and eliminates as soon as she gets outside. At only about 40 pounds, Jesse is a tiny thing, with the cutest expressive ears. But what she lacks in size, she more than makes up for in personality. She’s goofy and sweet, and truly wants to be everyone’s friend! Please, come to the Brooklyn Care Center and see if you can offer Jesse the one thing she’s missing-a home!
