07/03/15 18:41 War Ren is a black and white American Pit Bull Terrier mix that was surrendered due to personal family problems He is almost a year and a hald and has been with his owner since he was a pup. War lived with children and adults and allowed all to handle him. He did live with another dog and it was stated they have a friendly relationship. He is partially potty trained- he will have accidents when left for long periods of time. He is an indoor dog that has been used to a doggir door to the outside. He ha a very high activity level and goes running with his owner 2x a day for about 30 minutes. The owner states he has not seen him guard his food bowl and bones, nor his toys. When it comes to bath time, he will try to no let the water touch him. At home, War isn’t too attention seeking. At intake, War had a loose body and allowed all approaching and handling from the counselor. He was aloof for most of the intake, looking around the room.

War Ren previously lived 2 adults and children, and allowed all to handle him. The owner stated he is partially potty trained. It was also mentioned by the owner War Ren has a very high activity level. It was reported War Ren had loose body posture he approached the counselor and allowed all handling upon intake. During SAFER War Ren came into the assessment room calm and relax, he was a bit social towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. War Ren was distracted during the tag interaction and during the resources portion of the assessment War Ren was easy to handle when engaged with the items. War Ren appears to be a bit social, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels he can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (need coaxing to approach.) He is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Food: 1. Dog calmly allows the food to be moved, follows the dish, but does not interfere with the dish’s movement. Dog’s body is soft and loose, eyes soft, tail neutral. He lifts his head when hand is pushed against his cheek. Toy 1: No interest. Rawhide: 1. Dog settles down close to chew, will relinquish rawhide to you. Dog-to-dog: War Ren is social and will solicit play when greeting dogs. He can be a bit sexually motivated.

Off leash War Ren is playful offering a push/pull running type play, greets appropriately and accepts corrections appropriately. 7/8 update: War Ren is social and will solicit play when greeting dogs. He can be a bit sexually motivated. 7/9 update: War Ren engages in bouncy running play with both males and females. He may be sexually motivated but responds well to correction. 7/11 update: War Ren continues to be tolerant, greets appropriately, was more interested in sniffing/exlploring the yard.
