08/07/15 18:34 Gucci is a 7 year old male neutered Yorkshire Terrier Poodle mix who is being surrendered because the family wants him to have a better home. Gucci has been with his family since he was a puppy. Gucci lived with 2 adults and no other cats or dogs. Gucci had been exposed to small children and is said to be tolerant and receptive. Gucci get his exercise from leash walks and when he sees other dogs he stays away. Gucci enjoys visitors to the home. Gucci eliminates both on a wee wee pad at home and on his walks. Gucci will flee for a bath and will struggle for a nail trim. He enjoys to be picked up. Gucci will guard his food but not his toys or treats. Gucci enjoys petting. Gucci knows the command sit and come. He enjoys ball toys and to play fetch. When the family is home he likes to be where they are. He is well behaved when home alone. Gucci is not overwhelmed by loud sharp noises. Gucci likes dry food. Upon intake Gucci was receptive to introduction and loose for all handling. Counselor was able to scan for microchip (positive) collar and photograph. Gucci did not mind being picked up but preferred to walk on his own. Gucci was responsive to guidance on leash.

Gucci previously lived with 2 adults. The owner stated Gucci had been exposed to small children and is said to be tolerant of them. The owner mentioned Gucci uses the wee-wee pads at home and outside on his walks. It was also reported by the owner Gucci understand commands sit and come and he is well behaved when home alone. The owner stated that Gucci will guard his food. At intake Gucci was calm, quiet and loose, he allowed all handling. During SAFER Gucci came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, he was friendly and social towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Gucci was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Gucci was easy to handle when engaged with the items. Due to some concerns on with Gucci guarding his food in his previous home, the behavior department feels Gucci can be suitable for an experience adopter with no children. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Squeeze 1: 2. Dog quickly pulls back his paw. Food: 2. Dog follows the dish with his tail down, body soft. Dog lifts head after a bit of pressure from hand to cheek. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in Toy, dog licks, then turns away. Rawhide: 1. No interest. Dog-to-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Gucci is not playful but is tolerant of males and females dogs.

When off leash with other dogs Gucci greets politely but is more interested in exploring his suroundings. He will appropriately correct mounting. 8/12 update: Gucci is interested in other dogs but does not engage in play.
