10/21/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Surrendered due to “personal problems,” Miss Caile is understandably confused about where she is without her family. We’re told that she’s an energetic dog who may be too playful for the young child in the home. She’s been with children ages 2-8 and is generally relaxed and playful but has a high activity level. Caile knows ‘sit’ and ‘stay’, likes to sleep in her own bed and while with her former owners had no interaction with other dogs. I loved my time with Caile. She’s too thin, is long-limbed and elegant, showed me her ‘sit’ in exchange for a treat which she takes gently, and was in my lap for lots of hugs and kisses. She comes when called, plays a great game of fetch and can even amuse herself batting a ball around. If I don’t throw the ball quickly enough she gives me a quick ‘woof’ to remind me that she’s waiting. So cute!! Friendly, tail wagging, affectionate and in need of an active home with lots of physical and mental exercise, Caile is a smart dog who needs structure and love, and in return she’ll be your best friend for life. If you’re ready to provide Miss Caile with what she needs from her person, Caile is ready to provide you with her unconditional love. Win-Win, I think.
10/22/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Caile pulls a bit on the leash. She was calm and relaxed during handling. Caile engages in play, body is loose and wiggly, mouth open. She did not resist being handled while eating, and was easily pushed out of the food bowl. Caile was not interested in toys but took the rawhide away with a soft body language. Caile was surrender to us. Her previous owner described her as playful, pushy, confiident, excitable, affectionate, anxious, independent, and friendly. Caile has been around children ages 2 to 8 years old. Around them Caile is relaxed and playful. When she plays with the kids she is very exuberant. Caile has bnever been around any other dogs or cats so it is unknown how she reacts to them”. Caileis reported to show destructive behavior in the home, such as (garbage, laundry and will pull down cereal boxes). We are unaware of what, if any, attempts were made to remedy this behavior but we suggest to future adopters that Caile will need to be provided with physical and mental stimulation and with a variety of appropriate and engaging chew toys so Caile can engage in necessary chewing behavior without damage to human objects. because of her owner profile the behavior department feels that she may do best with an experienced adopter Look: 2.
