Medical Behavior Evaluation GREEN
Medical Summary Sex: Female Scan: Negative Estimated age: 12 years Fleas: No flea dirt. Hx: Client found pt in current condition S: Whining, rolled on her back and paddling her legs, appears to be aware of touch and talk O: BAR-H, BCS 4/9, MMs pink and moist EENT: No discharge OU, AU, nose. Severe tartar and gingivitis, halitosis. H/L: NSR, NMA. Tachypneic, quiet lung sounds. Abd: Soft, no pain on palpation, no masses palpated M/S/I: Non-ambulatory, paddling legs. No musculoskeletal or skin lesions noted. UG: Female Neuro: Pt appears alert and responsive, however she continually rolls to her left (between 90 and 180 degrees) and paddles her legs frequently. Occasionally, pt shakes and kicks for 1-5 seconds (looks like a normal dog shake except she is lying on her side). A: 1. Vestibular disease – R/O central (idiopathic is most likely cause, vs. infectious vs. toxic) vs. peripheral (infectious) 2. Severe dental disease Short-term prognosis: Fair P: 1. Supportive care for 1-3 days to see if vestibular signs improve: IVF at 60 ml/kg/day, hand-feeding 2. CBC and chemistry to rule out other conditions 3. Vx waived temporarily due to condition 4. If pt improves and is adopted, long-term care should include dental cleaning 1088
