12/12/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Handsome with a gorgeous physique and well groomed coat, Woosh was happy to be going out for a walk. His tail wagged, he smiled and certainly seems housetrained going potty as soon as we were out the door. He pulls hard on the leash so will benefit from a harness and/or some leash training, but his smiling playful personality will win hearts regardless. In a backyard pen he cocks his head towards street noises, alert and in tune with everything going on outside. He’s playful fun, and energetic and if he were a person he’d be the life of the party, the treasured guest who knows how to work a room and engage everyone in it. Woosh has a big personality and is looking for a person with a personality to match his. He’d love lots of exercise, lots of mental stimulation and lots of love. Are you equal to the task? Ask to meet him today.
12/09/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Woosh came to us as a stray on 12/7/15. Woosh was a bit tense when coming out of his kennel and tried to body check the handler twice while walking him. When entering the behavior room Woosh appeared to have soft body language. As the assessor went to sit on the chair Woosh would keep focused on the assessor with very hard eyes and stiff body language. He would often jump on the assessor very strongly with tense body language. When the assessor touched the back of his leg soft Woosh became very still body freezing and head flipped very quickly toward the assessor’s hand. Due to this behavior the handling portions of the assessment were not able to be performed. On the toy test Woosh took the toy away with soft body language and kept a firm grip on it. The behavior department believes that Woosh should go to a rescue group that can provide any positive behavior modification necessary before placing Woosh into a home. Toy 1: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the toy. Dog-Dog: When off leash with other dogs Woosh is sexually motivated. When correction is offered he becomes aroused, stiff and begins to growl.
12/08/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
When off leash with other dogs Woosh is sexually motivated. When correction is offered he becomes aroused, stiff and begins to growl. Woosh quickly becomes aroused during interaction and due to his potential to escalate he is no longer a candidate to socialize off leash. The behavior department recommends Woosh does not go to a home with other dogs until his behaviors can be followed up on.
