07/16/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Touchdown came in as a stray, so his past behaviors in a home are unknown. During SAFER Touchdown entered the assessment room loose and wiggly with his mouth open, he was friendly and social towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Touchdown was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Touchdown was easy to handle when engaged with the items. Touchdown was more interested with the assess-a-hand. Touchdown appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels he can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2:1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Food: 1. Dog calmly allows the food to be moved, follows the dish, but does not interfere with the dish’s movement. Dog’s body is soft and loose, eyes soft, tail neutral. He lifts his head when hand is pushed against his cheek. Toy 1: No interest. Rawhide: 1. No interest. Dog-to-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Touchdown is tolerant and greets politely, little bit stiff and seems more interested in exploring the yard.
