04/28/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
The owner stated Spunky has a high activity level, and he was best described as excitable and anxious. It was mentioned that Spunky barks and growls when unfamiliar people approach his household. He was reported to be tolerant of baths and being brushed by the owner, and he isn’t bothered when the owner touched his food bowl while eating. Upon intake it was noted that Spunky was not sociable and growled and barked at everyone in the lobby. During SAFER Spunky approached the assessor with loose body posture, and appeared to be very sociable. He allowed the assessor to conduct all handling items without issue, and was relaxed during the tag interaction. He was easily pushed out of the food bowl during the food item, and when engaged with the toy item, his body was loose and wiggly, but did not relinquish the item to the assessor. Spunky was not interested in the rawhide item as it was presented to him, and he did not show any interest when the item was taken away. Spunky did not show any concerning behaviors at the time of assessment, and he interacted well with the assessor, so the department feels Spunky can be suitable for an “Average” experienced adopter.
