08/23/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/23/15 15:38 Basic Info: Sepp is a 2 year old male. He is very good with people and he is a very loving dog. Social Life and Personality: This dog is okay with children. He can tend to get a little bit rough with kids sometimes but he can be trained on how to be better. Sepp is not good around other male dogs. He tends to bark and growl at them. He is much better with female dogs. Sepp would probably do best in a single pet home. Cats are not Sepp’s favorite either. Sepp is house trained. He is used to being kept inside and going out for walks. Sepp has a medium to high level of activity. He likes to give hugs and likes to just be with people in general. He is a friendly and affectionate boy. For a New Family to Know: Sepp is very smart and loves learning new things. He already knows how to “sit” and “stay.” His last owner never thought to give him any toys but he would totally love all the toys! Sepp has never been crated. When his owner is home Sepp likes to be in the same room and just relax. He is well behaved when left alone at home. At meal time Sepp is used to a mix of both wet and dry food. He loves a good milk bone after a long day. Behavior during intake: This dog was soft body and pulling a lot on the leash during the intake process. The dog reacted well to treats. He knows how to sit and stay. I was able to photograph the dog with no issue. I was not able to collar the dog because he was moving around so much when I got close.

08/27/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sepp previously lived with 1 adult and has been socialized with children. The owner stated Sepp can tend to get a little bit rough with kids sometimes. The owner mentioned Sepp does not get along with cats. It was reported by the owner Sepp is house trained and has a medium to high activity level but is well behaved when home alone. The owner describes Sepp as friendly, affectionate, loves to give kisses and hugs. At intake Sepp pulls strongly on the leash but he reacted well to treats, he allowed some handling due to high movements. During SAFER Sepp came into the assessment room with high energy, he was friendly towards the assessor, not all handling items were able to be conducted as Sepp got easily over aroused and attempted to bite the assessor during tag-interaction. He displayed minimal interest on food item, and toy and rawhide items he freezes and growls during this portion of the assessment. In light of this behavior we feel that placement with a rescue who can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 5. Dog growls or tries to bite. Food: 1. Minimal interest in food, dog licks, then turns away. Toy 1: 4. Dog freezes and growls. Rawhide: 4. Dog freezes and growls.
