I am a female br brindle and white am pit bull ter mix. The shelter thinks I am about 6 MONTHS old.

I came in the shelter as a SEIZED on 05/13/2015 from NY 10027, owner surrender reason stated was SEARCH WAR. I came in with Group/Litter #K15-013704.

05/13/15 12:42 During tinake would approach extended hand and allow to be scanned (negative), collared, pictured, and leashed without aggression. When taken back for vaccines allowed to be held and showed no signs of aggression. When touched would have soft, wiggly body and attempt to jump onto admission counselor.

A volunteer writes: Joining us with her littermate Cadbury (A1036157), Reeses is a bouncy, sweet and gorgeous puppy just like her brother. She’s a bit more petite and her coat is a darker caramel, but she’s the same sweet, fun loving and nicely taken care of pup as her brother is. Showing off her ‘sit’ for a treat which she takes gently, she then sits without being asked every time she saw my hand near my treat bag. Smart little girl! She’s puppy silly and sweet and can get a little jumpy when she gets excited but that’s what puppies do until trained not to jump. Chasing toys and a ball but rather than retrieve comes running back to me for another treat, she looks up with a wrinkled forehead hoping another treat is on its way. You know it is!! Following me around the pen as I took some notes, Reeses is happy when I sit down so that she can do some in lap snuggling. All puppy kisses and wiggles Reeses loves being with people, as well as being a good girl with other dogs. Polite and social in group she didn’t engage but was happy to be there. Like all puppies Reeses needs structure, positive reinforcement training, toys and lots of time. Ask to meet Reeses today; I guarantee you’ll love her to pieces (sorry, I couldn’t resist).

05/15/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE

Reeses pulls a bit on leash. She was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body, wagging tail. She was calm and relaxed during handling. Reeses engages in play, body is loose and wiggly, mouth open. She was a bit difficult to push out of the food bowl, but had soft body language. She was not interested in toys but took the rawhide away but had soft body language. Reeses did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that she can go to an Average home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Food 2. Dog follows the dish with her tail down, body likely a bit stiff. Dog lifts head after a bit of pressure from hand to cheek. Toy 1. No interest. Rawhide 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. she does not place her body between you and the rawhide. When off leash with other dogs Reeses greets politely and is social but does not engage in play.

When off leash with other dogs Reeses greets politely and is social but does not engage in play. 5/20 update: Reeses is social and playful with both males and females. 5/21 update: Reeses is playful and bouncy with both males and females. She will correct pushy behavior.
