08/16/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/16/15 20:35 Behavior During Intake: This dog was mild hard body and cautious during the intake process. She allowed me to place my rope around her and take her photo with no issue. She knows how to sit and stay on command. When I attempted to collar her, she did tense up and gave a low growl.
08/19/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: So gentle, so beautiful….all about people, making friends, nudging with her nose to be pet, shaking paw, and giving hugs. What a delight! She’s full-figured in her lush coat, her eyes are soft and gentle, she’s easy to be with. Likely housetrained, so goes as soon as we’re out the door and has lovely leash manners as we walk to the park. In a pen with lots of people she goes to each for some petting, shakes paw with those that offer, and sits quietly to be petted. With another dog she engages in the appropriate ‘how do you do sniffing’, but neither dog play — they are just quietly friendly as if they’ve known each other all their lives versus just meeting. Pickleback is a total ‘people person’, happiest when sitting close to a human and getting her head petted. She poses for pictures quietly….everything she does is quiet, gentle and calm. She’s a gem in need of a new home, a person with whom to shake hands, and exchange some kisses. That’s not asking too much is it? She’s a Rottie lovers dream, and she could be yours.
08/19/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Pickleback walks with a low fearful body language on leash. She was shy but friendly during the assessment – low body, but trying to stay close. Pickleback was shy during handling with a fearful body language. She was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. Pickleback did not resist being handled while eating, and was easily pushed out of the food bowl. He was not interested in toys or rawhide. She The behavior department feels that she may do best with an experienced adopter. Pickleback is somewhat fearful and needs time to warm up to the handler. We cannot be certain if behavior may be suppressed as a result of the shelter environment. Please note that behavior may change when Pickleback is more comfortable and settled in a home environment. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, shy body language , mouth closed, lip long, ears likely back, may lip lick. Tag: 2.
