PROFILE
Basic Information:
Patchy is a male Brown brindle and white American Pit-bull terrier who was surrendered by his owner due to personal problems. He was a gift from a family friend and was with his family since he was a puppy. He is described as playful, smart and friendly.
Personality:
Patchy has lived with four children, between the ages of 1-10 and two adults. He is relaxed and playful around children and plays gentle. He usually licks and allows petting. Around other dogs he is tolerant and playful; he plays exuberantly and somewhat rough. Patchy hasn’t been around cats. He is housetrained and rarely has accidents indoors. His activity level is described as high, according to his owner he is always ready to play.
Behavior:
Patchy isn’t bothered when his food is touched while eating, or if a treat is taken away. He has previously been professionally groomed and isn’t bothered with baths or grooming. Patchy enjoys being held and will attempt to lick and hug his owner back. He barks when strangers approach his home but once inside will greet them. According to his owner he is easily excited and jumps on people he first meets.
For a new family to know:
Patchy knows the commands sit, stay and go. He is used to brisk leashed walks twice a day. When left alone Patchy was usually confined to the kitchen area, he sleeps there as well. He uses the bathroom on grass and cement. When home he tends to stay in his favorite spot. When off leash he will wander some but come back when called. During storms and fireworks he barks and screams. Patchy eats dry food, Eukanuba brand, and enjoys milkbone treats.
Upon intake Patchy was calm and had a loose body, he allowed all handling. Counselor was able to scan, photograph, and collar.
