A volunteer writes: Hellllloooo handsome! In his gleaming black coat, wagging tail and sparkling eyes Christopher is simply too welcoming to resist. We head out the door and off to the park where Christopher gets a ton of admiring looks; he’s really a head turner and I’m proud to have him as my date! Surrendered to our care as his family no longer has time for him, we’re told he lived with young children and was relaxed and playful, knows ‘sit’, is housetrained, is welcoming to strangers in the home, is crate trained, likes balls and squeaky toys, and is allergic to chicken. Super friendly and snuggly, Christopher gives kisses and hugs, has lovely leash manners and even though he kept getting tangled up in my leash when tethered poses for photos like a gentleman. He seems to love other dogs, wagging his tail appropriately at all we met. With a soft, friendly and attentive demeanor Christopher is looking for a new family to love. A proven family dog who has been beautifully cared for, he’s hoping you’ll stop by to meet him today.
Basic Info:
Christopher is a 10 month old neutered dog who has no known injuries but does have a chicken allergy. He was gotten as a gift and surrendered due to a time issue with the owner and her job.
Social Life and Personality:
According to the owner he lived with a 3 and 10 year old and was relaxed, playful, and respectful and when he played with was exuberant. He has the same behavior with both dogs and cat. He is house trained, kept mostly indoors, and has a high level of energy.
Behavior:
He has never bitten anyone or any animal before, When owner took food, toys, treats, bones, or other objects he will sit down or back away and allow all objects to be taken away. When unfamiliar people approach the house or family member he would approach with soft, wiggly body, sniff and lick them.
New Family Info:
He knows the command sit and is used to brisk walks on leash. He will play with balls and squeaky toys and will play fetch. He has been crate trained and does well up to 12 hours at a time. When at home he will follow owner around the home. He is not bothered by loud noises and was fed dry food.
Intake behavior:
Allowed all handling without aggression. Would approach with soft, wiggly body and sniff/lick admission counselor. When scanned was positive for a microchip. When given treat would take gently from hand and when given sit commands would respond.
