10/31/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Walking with Orson Wells is like walking with a celebrity. Admiring glances will follow you, everyone makes a comment, and everyone wants to meet him. He’s happy to oblige, and although a bit shy in initial meeting, he warms up quickly, his tail begins to wag and he’s happy to now add you to his friends list. He’s a big bruiser, a tank, a low rider bull dozer and if we were in school he’d be the popular quarterback all the boys want to be, and all the girls want to be with! His leash manners are lovely, he gives hugs and kisses, sits when asked and takes treats gently. In group play he engages in running play when solicited and loves the ladies! Sweet, friendly and low key, Orson was a delight to spend time with. As the human Orson Wells famously said, “If you want a happy ending, that depends, of course, on where you stop your story.” So, we’re going to stop our story with our Orson finding his soul mate and going home to his happily ever after. Ask to meet him today.
11/03/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Orson Welles pulls a bit on the leash. He was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body. Orson Welles was overexcited during some of the handling items, trying to hump the assessors and was hard to position, but showed no aggression. Orson Welles engages in play, body is loose and wiggly, mouth open. Orson Welles shows minimal interest on toys. He smells it, licks it and then turns away. Orson Welles showed a low threshold for what appears to be sexual arousal and consistently tried to mount the Assessor during the assessment and was a bit difficult to distract. The behavior department feels that he may do best with an experienced adopter who can follow up on this behavior. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. Toy: 1. Minimal interest. Dog may smell or lick toy , then turns away. When off leash with other dogs Orson Welles is sexually motivated and will continue to attempt to mount once corrected. He may engage in running play when solicted.
10/30/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
When off leash with other dogs Orson Welles is sexually motivated and will continue to attempt to mount once corrected. He will then mount and continue to attempt to mount once corrected. 11/5 update: Orson Welles is sexually motivated but will engage briefly in play when solicited by the helper dog.
