Basic Information:
Brownee A1056396 is a 7yr old neutered male Cocker Spaniel/Cavalier Spaniel who was given to the owner as a puppy from a friend who is being surrendered along with his brother Chico A1056397 a 12yr old neutered male chocolate brown Chihuahua who was also given to the owner 5yrs ago from a neighbor in a different state due to the owner moving to where pets aren’t allowed. Their last vet visit was in 2014 where Brownee was given a clean bill of health besides being obese and Chico has dandruff and possibly arthritis possibly due to his weight.
Socialization:
Around strangers Brownee & Chico are friendly/outgoing. They’ve been around children ages 10 & 11yrs. Brownee & Chico aren’t playful anymore but enjoy being pet, picked up & held. Both have lived with a cat & rabbit and were relaxed, respectful of both including each other. Neither has ever bitten/scratched a person or animal.
Behavior:
During storms/fireworks Brownee hides, barks & whines. Chico hides. Brownee & Chico aren’t bothered by the following: having their food/food bowl, toys/treats touched/moved, being moved off of furniture, being held/restrained, being given a bath or being brushed. Brownee doesn’t mind having his nails trimmed but Chico doesn’t like it. He’s afraid & sometimes will growl & or snap. If someone unfamiliar approaches the home both will bark.
For A New Family to Know:
Brownee & Chico are described as friendly, affectionate & mellow with low activity levels. The owner likes how loving they are. The boys enjoy lounging around. Neither plays with toys anymore. They are mostly indoor dogs who are walked 2x a day for slow/brisk walks. Brownee & Chico sleep on dog beds and eat Purina Dog Chow & house food 2x a day. Brownee has no accidents in the home, Chico will sometimes have accidents if you take too long to take him out but they also use wee wee pads. When left alone both are well behaved. They understand “come” as a command.
Intake Behavior:
Brownee had a loose wiggly body and allowed all handling. He allowed to be scanned (-), collared & taken pictures of including positioning during his photo session. He’s a hefty boy who didn’t resist or vocalize negatively in any way when picked up and placed into a kennel.
