07/16/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Moses came to us as an owner surrender on 7/12/15. It was reported by the owner that Moses has lived with 2 other dogs and is mostly mellow and aloof when around them. The owner stated that Moses has growled at other dogs in his neighborhood when passing by. Moses was very interested in interacting with the assessor, but had slightly nervous body language. He allowed the assessor to conduct all tactile assessment items without displaying any signs of aggression. Moses showed no interest in the food item, but was easy to handle when chewing on the toy and rawhide items. The behavior department believes that Moses can go to a home with and average amount of dog experience. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (needs coaxing to approach.) He is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 3. Dog is soft in body and eye, and moves his legs/body so that the Assessor is unable to hold the paw Flank squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all. Flank squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all. Food: No interest Toy 1: 1. Dog settles down close to chew, will relinquish toy to you. Rawhide: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the rawhide. Dog-Dog: Off leash, Moses greets politely, and is tolerant but seems more interested in sniffing/exploring the yard.
