07/12/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/12/15 19:04 Bobby is a 7 year old white neutered male chihuahua mix who is being surrendered because the owner is moving. Bobby lived with the family for 5 years. Bobby lived with 1 adult. Bobby is receptive to visitors in the home but is weary when strangers approach on the street and may growl and pull on the leash. Owner states he has been exposed to children but does best with those over the age of 5. He can become fearful of children that play rough with him (pulling of ears or tail). Bobby is house broken but may have an accident if he is not walked on time. Bobby is walked 2 to 3 times a day. Bobby is aroused by cats in the street when on walks, when exposed to cats in the home Bobby is reported to be stiff but does not engage. When exposed to other dogs on walks he becomes reactive by pulling, growling and barking. Bobby does not have play with other dogs. Bobby is tolerant of bathing, nail trims and teeth brushing. Bobby may guard his food toys or treats from strangers and will warn them by growling. Bobby prefers not to be picked up. Bobby enjoys squeaky toys and soft toys to chew. He knows the commands sit, stay and down. Bobby sometimes has yard play. When the family is home he likes to be where they are. When home alone he is well behaved. Loud sharp noises may startle him. Bobby prefers dry food but does eat wet as well. Upon intake Bobby was receptive to introduction and loose for all handling. Counselor was able to scan for microchip (positive) collar and photograph. Bobby walked well on leash and was responsive to guidance.
