07/13/15 20:26 BASIC INFORMATION Molly is a Chihuahua mix that is 1 year old. Owner had Molly since she was puppy. His previous dog had puppies and Molly was part of the litter he kept. Owner is surrendering Molly due to pet conflict and owner has no time. SOCIALIZATION Molly is a bit timid around stranger. She will bark when stranger come to the door. After a few she managed to relax and sniff visitors. She will allow for stranger to pet her and she will seek attention. Molly is relaxed and gentle around children. She has been around ages 1 and up. She does not play with children but allows being pet. Molly has never been introduced to cat. She has been raised with 4 other male dogs in the home (Chihuahuas). Molly at times engages in play with them and is very relax. But at times Molly growls and gives off warning signs, when her siblings are being too pushy. Molly enjoys being on her own. BEHAVIOR Molly is a shy dog and at times scared with fast movement and load noises. She runs always from unfamiliar people that attempt to touch her suddenly. When she is very nervous she urinates on herself. She is partly housed trained; she go outside and eliminate but at times have accident at home. Molly uses the wee wee pads occasionally. Molly at times is pushy with the other male dogs in the house. She guards her food and growls when the other dogs attempt to take food from her bowl. She is fine when people touch her food bowl; remove her treats, being restrained and having her nails trimmed. Molly struggles with taken bath but she manages to give in and relax. FOR NEW FAMILIES TO KNOW Molly is described as independent, affections and shy. She loves to be around family members and is fine around children. Molly can be very attached quickly to people. She loves to chew on plastic. She enjoys any doggy today that is made out of plastic. Molly will greet owner by the door and follow. She walks next to you on and off leash. She enjoys a variety of dog food brands. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE During intake Molly was fearful. Her body was tense and tail tucked. She did not take treats and moved her head away from counselor. She struggle having her picture taken but allowed to be collard. Molly bark when she was placed in the cage.

7/18 SAFER: Helper Dog:A1043895 Molly was reported to be a bit timid around strangers, and needs time to warm up. She was also reported to become fearful of loud noises and sudden movements. The owner states Molly is relaxed and gentle but not playful around children, and has been around children ages 1 and up. Molly was raised with 4 other male dogs in the home, and it was stated that Molly at times engages in play with them and is very relax, but at times Molly will give warning signal (growls), when her siblings are being too pushy. It was mentioned that Molly is partly housed trained and uses wee-wee pads occasionally. The owner stated Molly does not guard items from humans, but she did guard her food from the other dogs in the home and will growl. At intake Molly was reported to be fearful, and maintained a stiff body posture with a tucked tail. During SAFER Molly was also fearful, but remained close to the assessor. She allowed most handling items to be conducted without issue, but became uncomfortable with the paw handling item. She was fearful during the tag interaction, and would not follow the assessor at the end of the leash, but did approach at the end of the game. During the resources portion of the assessment Molly was not interested in any of the items, and during the dog-dog interaction molly did not approach the helper dog. While in the care center Molly remains fearful, and would best suited for a New Hope partner who can provide slow exposure to positive, rewarding experiences to address this underlying fear and anxiety. Look: 2. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her body posture is stiff and fearful; her tail is low and not moving. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, her tail is between her legs, body stiff, mouth closed, lip long, ears back, lip licks. Tag: 2. Dog is fearful but unresponsive when touched. Approaches the Assessor when the game ends. Dog is crouching, trembling and lip licks. Squeeze 1: 3. Dog body is stiff and trembling, and moves her legs/body so that the Assessor is unable to hold the paw. Flank squeeze 1&2: 1. Dog does not respond at all. Food: Inconclusive, dog is not eating. Toy: 1. No interest. Rawhide: 1. No interest. Dog-dog: 2. Dog does not approach the helper dog.
