07/22/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Griffin walks calmly on leash. He was fearful and repeatedly attempted to get away from the handler during the assessment. Griffin had a low body position during the tag test, but followed the assessor at the end of the leash. He growled and bit the assess-a-hand during the food bowl and rawhide test. Griffin was not interested in toys. Griffin shows some guarding issues during the food bowl test. He may require positive reinforcement behavior modification to address his guarding behavior. The behavior department feels that he would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, shy body language, mouth closed, lip long, ears likely back, may lip lick. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft, or low and a bit fearful. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Food: 4. Dog growls. Toy 1. No interest.
