Medical Summary 08/14/15 13:42 scan neg S/O: BAR, jogs on leash EENM:DENTAL TARTAR MODERATE, gums- MM Injected, screa also injected, red , CRT 1 SEC CV: Grade 4 Heart MURMUR, Very large abdomen with fluid wave present when palpated vs very fluidy fat LUNGS: CLEAR ABD: SOFT AND NONTENDER – very large , seemed to have fluid wave present abdominocentsis produced blood on stick MS/INTEG: AMB X 4, BCS 5/9 (OR 3/5) NS: APPROPRIATE PLN: NSF GU:Intact female A:Injected Mucous membranes: Possible hemoabdomen from cardiac decompensation vs. spleenic mass vs abdominocentesis hit a blood vessel – dog rises on own and can jog down the halllway P:NH placement ASAP needed for workup of murmur and injected membrane: ABD and CXR rads, U/S to see if blood from abdomen is real. No Dxistic capabilities at ACC so dxistics would best to be done ASAP. This may be a normal heart murmur dog with excitement of coming to ACC. Poor Px

Basic Information
Marshmellow was brought in as a stray, due to owner moving, and being unable to keep her. Owner says she is 10-years old, and he has had her since she was a puppy. Owner says as far as he knows, Marshmellow does not have any injuries or health concerns, and when asked what he likes most about her owner chose that she is kind and playful.
Personality & Behavior
Marshmellow is described as playful and friendly with a low-medium activity level. According to owner, Marshmellow has lived with children ages 3, and 11, and owner says she is respectful and occasionally playful with them. Owner says Marshmellow is mostly kept outdoors, only coming inside when it’s time for bed. Owner believes Marshmellow is house-trained, but is unsure due to her constantly staying outdoors. Owner says he hasn’t had any prior issues with marshmellow biting anyone or another animal.
For a New Family to Know
According to owner, Marshmellow knows commands sit, down, stay, and stop. Owner says when home Marshmellow rarely seeks attention, and is well-behaved when left alone at home and in the yard. According to owner, Marshmellow is not scared of most loud invasive noises, but will become nervous when hearing car brakes suddenly. Owner says marshmellow ate both wet and dry food, usually slept in her doggy bed and owner says she is unbothered 8if disturbed while sleeping.
Behavior during Intake
Marshmellow was very friendly during intake. She was very responsive, and immediately came when summoned, as well as accepted treats. Marshmellow demonstrated her knowledge of the command sit once time for photos. Marshmellow allowed all handling, and showed no signs of aggression during intake.
Marshmellow walks calmly on leash. She was calm and relaxed during handling. She was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. Marshmellow did not resist being handled while eating, and was easily pushed out of the food bowl. Marshmellow was not interested in toys but took the rawhide away with a soft body language. She does not approach other dog, turns body to side.
Marshmellow did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that she can go to an Average home.
Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions.
Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture.
Tag: 2. Dog is fearful but unresponsive when touched. Approaches the Assessor when the game ends. Dog is likely crouching, may have long lip or lip lick.
Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Dog may lick hand.
Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw.
Food 1. Dog lifts head and ceases eating when you reach to pull the bowl
Toy 1: No interest.
Rawhide 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. she does not place her body between you and the rawhide.
Dog – dog 2. Dog does not approach the helper dog. Turns body to side in relation to other dog, or exits
