06/07/15 11:13 Basic Information Marlin was brought in by police after being spotted alone in the Bronx. Police say they ad to use a catching pole on him, and Marlin bit the pole. Behavior during Intake Marlin was tense and alert during intake. Inside of his kennel he would growl when too many people entered the room, and when transported from police car to the inside of the care center. Due to Poppy Seed’s large size, and mouth injury he was mmediately transported to the back of shelter to be let out of crate and rushed to medical.

06/11/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Marlin came to us as a stray on 6/7/15 by way of NYPD. Due to the behavior demonstrated in the shelter the behavior department believes that Marlin is not an appropriate candidate for SAFER at this time. Upon intake Marlin was reported to be very tense and alert, and you growl when too many people entered in his vicinity. He was also reported to be intolerant of handling during his medical exam and attempted to bite the technician, we was rated as a medical Red. When attempting to take Marlin out of his kennel Marlin can be seen with calm body language but will become quickly uncomfortable and begin to low growl with a hard stare. In consideration of all behavior displayed in the shelter a SAFER assessment will not be conducted due to safety and stress level concerns.
