A volunteer writes: When I asked staff where I would find Junior I was told, “look for the gorgeous black dog with the two toned nose”. Indeed he is gorgeous in his gleaming black coat, and he has the cutest nose…….ever! Surrendered by his person due to their home size, we’re told that Junior is housetrained when walked 2-3x per day, loves to be brushed and take baths, likes other dogs, knows commands in Spanish only, loves chicken and rice, can be shy with new people but warms up quickly and then plays well with both adults and children, is well behaved when home alone, and is energetic and playful. I adored my time with Junior! He showed off his housetraining skills by ‘going’ as soon as we were out the door, his leash manners are excellent, and while he’s a bit hand shy, is welcoming of affection and loves being with people. He seems to do well with other dogs as his former owner advised, and in group he greeted others appropriately, was tolerant and then wanders off. When staff came into our pen he became tail waggy and solicited attention – he really seems to be about his person, and the more attention and petting the better. Junior does not like elevators one bit, so we take the stairs and he’s a happy boy! Junior is on the cusp of becoming an awesome adult dog; he’s certainly an amazing pup and he’s looking for the person or family with whom to spend the rest of his life. Rocking his behavior assessment means he’ll be a good fit in most homes, so come meet him today and make him yours!
