09/16/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
09/16/15 09:27hrs Kiwi is a 9 year old female terrier mix. She has lived with her owner for the past 9 years but is being surrendered because a family member developed allergies to her. SOCIAL LIFE & PERSONALITY Kiwi is described as affectionate, friendly and playful. She has lived with adults and children aged 10 years old and up. She allows petting but her owner stated that she needs to be approached slowly and given time to adjust to new people. She lived with a cat named Sunny (A1051209) in the home and was respectful of him. She would playfully fight with Sunny and sometimes sleep alongside him. She becomes excited when she notices other dogs, wagging her tail and tries to approach them. BEHAVIOR Kiwi is okay with being bathed about 2x a month. She tends to growl and snap at people when her food bowl is touched while she is eating. She enjoys being brushed at times. When visitors knock at the door, Kiwi barks. She will hide from new visitors until she is comfortable enough to approach them. She is walked at least 3x a day but tends to have reoccurring accidents in the same area of the home. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Kiwi knows the commands “sit and down.” She is allowed to run free in enclosed grassed areas. She was walked off leas by her owner and would stay close by. She likes games like tug and chase. She is accustomed to eating wet and dry dog food. She likes to sleep in bed with her owner or on her own bed. DURING INTAKE Kiwi was calm but would move her head away when she was approached. She allowed handling without displaying any negative behavior.
