11/24/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Jude is a cute little guy, with a lovely triangular face, attentive eyes, a hint of a pout, antenna ears and a very gentle look. He is rather thin, dressed in a suit that has seen better days and his nails call for a manicure. A little make over would transform Mr. Jude into one super handsome young man ready for his Hollywood’s debuts. Jude is really sweet, sociable, very friendly and his tail wags a lot. He is happy to be in company and enjoys treats that he takes nicely from my hand. He even sits properly to get more. He comes immediately when I call him, loves to have his butt scratched, and poses his head in my lap for caresses. Jude is a good walker and eliminates on the way without marking his territory. He meets quite politely other dogs in the street, not even responding to a pooch barking ferociously at him. I was told that he was fine in playgroups, mounting at times, which is quite common for un-neutered males. There is nothing flashy about Jude and I can easily see people passing him over. There is something special in each of us, so worthy to discover, enjoy and cherish. Same for dogs and cats. There is always more than meets the eye. Please, do not just walk by Jude’s kennel. Stop by, ask to meet him in person, see for yourself what he has to offer. A nice guy who wants to make your and his life beautiful. Jude is at the Manhattan Care Center, dreaming to see you soon. A volunteer writes: “Hey Jude, don’t make it bad / Take a sad song and make it better / Remember to let her into your heart / Then you can start to make it better…” Yes, I serenaded Jude with this classic Beatles song….I met Jude when he was playing with another dog and he impressed me so much I had to meet him alone. He’s working as a ‘greeter’ dog…..a very important job, welcoming new dogs into group play. How impressive is that! He’s calm, affectionate, came into my lap for kisses, enjoyed playing with a plush toy, and when I asked the behavior team about him I was told how wonderful he is: “so sweet”, “love him”, “so good”….. I didn’t need much convincing as I thought him pretty special from the moment we met. Jude needs some TLC for his coat as it seems he did not have optimal care, but he needs nothing for his sweet personality except a person or family to love and be loved back. Don’t pass up the opportunity to meet him today.
