11/17/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Jonah was difficult to remove from his kennel showing teeth, growling. Once he was removed from his kennel Johan is fearful of the shelter environment he walks with a low and fearful body language. Jonah was extremely fearful and repeatedly attempted to get away from the handler. He is showing fearful postures and retreat, but he may become aggressive if the handler tries to approach (wrinkles his muzzle to expose his front teeth). The behavior team decided to skip the handling part of the assessment for safety reasons. During the resources Jonah snapped at the assess-a-hand during the toy. Jonah does not approach other dog, turns body to side. The behavior department feels that he would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home. Toy: 4. Dog snap. Dog-dog: 2. Dog does not approach the helper dog. Turns body to side in relation to other dog, or exits. Helper: A1057829
