05/25/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: I had a feeling Isham might be something special when the mostly-little-dog-loving driver that transported him boasted about the cargo she had in tow! He really is quite charming. Shortly after I asked him to “sit,” Isham was waving his paw in the air. He can give paw and high five with either paw, both simultaneously, or even high five with the right while giving the left. One time I saw him sitting on a bench, a female staff member on each side, each with a paw in hand — he is taking ladies man to a new level! And benches aren’t just for holding hands — they’re also for crawling into laps, giving kisses, and rolling over. Speaking of, Isham even responds to “Belly rubs!” by flopping over on his back! Of course at this point it’s hard not to wonder how someone could ever lose this guy. Not to mention, he is easy to handle and seems housebroken. Isham is already neutered and ready to join his new family; polish that handshake of yours and come meet this sweet guy at Brooklyn ACC today!
05/25/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
5/25/15 Update: Isham is showing concerning behavior in his kennel, including hard barking, snarling, and growling at individuals who approach his kennel. Outside of his kennel he remains social and affiliative. Due to the decline in Isham’s kennel behavior we feel it is best for him to be placed into a foster or adoptive home as quickly as possible. 5/01/15 SAFER Isham came to us as a stray on 5/01/15. Upon intake it was reported that Isham was easy to handle and had soft body language. He was very interested in interacting with the assessor when entering the behavior room. He allowed the assessor to conduct all tactile assessment items while maintaining soft body language. Isham proved easy to handle, but showed no interest in any of the resource items on this portion of the assessment. The behavior department believes that Isham can go to an average home. Look: 1.
