05/06/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: I fell in love with this gentle girl yesterday. So low key, so beautiful and so kind to all, she was happy to come for a walk and take the opportunity to go potty. Gorgeous on leash, she was happy to meet other dogs we encountered, and pose for some pictures in the park. Her figure is perfect, her coat a lush, well groomed deep chocolate brown with bronze threads running through it. Spending time together in the backyard, Hera lay her head on my lap for some petting, and when I sat on the ground she lay beside me, rolling over for a belly rub. I was in love before, but now I’m a goner! She’s awesome. Gentle, soft, lifting her head to listen to the birds chirp and breathe in fresh air, she’s so relaxed and easy I wish I could have hung out with her all day. As I walked around the pen she watched me, and when I sat down again she chose to come over to sit beside me as I took some notes. It’s no surprise she aced her behavior assessment indicating she’ll be a good fit in just about any home. Clearly well taken care of before joining us, she’s looking for a new home and people to cherish. In Greek mythology Hera is the goddess of women and children, and this gorgeous, kind, sweet, gentle, soft, easy girl is appropriately named. She’s petite, her eyes are kind and gentle and she’s waiting to turn them on you, her new person. Ask to meet her today. Another volunteer writes: Low key and easy, Miss Hera is happy with an easy walk to the park, especially on a hot day. Great leash manners make her an awesome companion (among other things), and she’s then happy to lay down for a quick rest. Her eyes look into mine and I know she’s wishing for a new person to love and take care of, and that the lap she is now laying in (mine) will be replaced by a forever lap. Easy peasy with other dogs, she’s used as a helper dog to asses other dogs at intake. Hera isn’t asking for much; some loving, easy walks, nutritious food, and a place in which to curl up for snuggly naps is all she wants…. Can you make her wishes come true?
