04/02/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: From his shiny tuxedo coat to his wonderful demeanor, Hemi is truly a class act! I happened to be there when Hemi arrived, and even the driver that transported him couldn’t help but sing his praises — he had a special dog in tow! Hemi was a little shy and nervous at first, but it seemed to stem from the strange environment he found himself in, not the people. His former owner reports that he has lived with children (and loves them!) and gets along with strangers. A few minutes into our first walk and Hemi was gently propping his white-gloved paws on me and staying for as long as I would pet him. He has very good leash manners, pulling only occasionally and he seems housebroken. He has brown eyes that pop and he is always checking in on walks. Hemi has previously lived with dogs AND cats and is said to have gotten along great with both! Whenever we’ve seen other dogs on walks Hemi has been calm and he has done well in playgroups. Hemi is an incredibly sweet, playful, well-mannered boy who loves all creatures four-legged and two — he’s ready to be scooped up at Brooklyn ACC!
