08/25/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: I can tell Dylan would love nothing more than to get to go home with a new family– he tries as hard as he can with those soulful eyes to get my attention every time I enter the room. When it is his turn to go outside, he is so grateful that he licks my face every chance he gets. Although you’d think he would pull on the leash, once he’s outside he’s very calm, curious, and affectionate. Dylan loves treats, belly rubs, and baby talk. Please come meet him today!
08/19/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Dylan was brought into the care center as stray, so we do not have information on his past behaviors in a home. At intake it was noted that Dylan was social, and allowed all handling by a counselor. It was also noted that Dylan took treats gently from the counselor’s hand. During SAFER Dylan was a bit distracted, but his body remained loose. He allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue, and was playful during the tag interaction. During the resource portion of the assessment Dylan was a bit resistant when pushed out of the food bowl, and was a bit stiff, but with a bit of pressure applied to his cheek; he lifted his head and allowed the assessor to remove the food without issue. Dylan was not interested in the toys or rawhide items. Dylan appears to be social, and has not displayed any behavioral concerns while in the care center. The department feels Dylan can be suitable for an adopter with an average amount of dog experience. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions.
