Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper Dog:A1029129 Dillinger came into the care center as a owner surrender due to a previous bite incident with a 13yr old child after becoming over aroused. The owner stated that Dillinger has a high energy level, and described him as friendly and confident. He lived with adults and children, and he was reported to be respectful and friendly when playing with the children. The owner did mention that Dillinger does not like baths and the owner states they rarely try to handle him. It was also mentioned that Dillinger is fine when touching his food or toys, when given a verbal warning beforehand, and he is mostly house trained. During SAFER Dillinger was sociable, and maintained a relaxed body posture when interacting with the assessor. He allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue, and became easily distracted during the tag interaction. During the resources portion of the assessment Dillinger was easy to handle when engaged with the food, allowing the assessor to easily push him out of the food bowl, and he was not interested in the toys or rawhides. During the dog-dog interaction, Dillinger rushed in quickly towards the helper dog, with his body a bit tense, but did not display any concerning behavior when close.
