06/03/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Chimney came into the care center as a stray so his past behaviors in a home are unknown. Chimney was reported to be friendly during his medical exam, and he was tolerant of all handling. During SAFER Chimney was attention seeking, and maintained a relaxed body posture when interacting with the assessor. He allowed the assessor to conduct all handling items without issue, and was relaxed during the tag interaction. During the resources portion of the assessment Chimney was a bit resistant when pushed out of the food bowl, but he lifted his head from the bowl when a bit of pressure was applied to his cheek. He was easy to handle when engaged with the toys, and he was not interested in the rawhides. Chimney appears to be sociable, and did not show any concerns at the time of assessment, so the department feels Chimney can be suitable for an “Average” experienced adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is open for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1.
