A volunteer writes: “Loves children and plays gently with adults and kids” are among the many positive comments when his family left him with us as they are moving someplace he’s not welcome. Scared and unsure in his kennel, I finally convinced Blue that a walk would be a good thing and out we go. Confirming that he’s housetrained as we had been told, we walk to the park as Blue shows me his awesome leash manners. His former family said it takes him a little while to warm up which proved true, but once we became friends Blue leaned into me for petting and snuggling. He seems to love other dogs happily greeting all those met in the park. We’re also told that he loves to
be bathed, get brushed and have his nails trimmed. Wow! Through his coat I can feel his ribs and spine, so in my opinion he needs to gain some weight. We’re also told that he’s active, loves to play fetch and run in the park, and knows ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’ and ‘lay down’. Blue and I became good friends and each time he saw me later in the day he came forward and wagged his tail. He’s looking for a new family who will give him a little time to decompress and feel the love. I don’t think it will take long at all.
