Baby is a 12 year old female spayed brown and tan American pit bull terrier who is being surrendered because the owner can no longer have her in the home. Baby has been in the home since she was a puppy.
Baby lived with 5 adults and 1 infant. Baby has been exposed to cats and is described to be tolerant Baby is respectful of the infant and does not attempt rough play. Baby is play and energetic with the family members. On leash Baby is insistent on leash and is interested in other dogs she encounters but had not been allowed to interact owner cannot report on this. Baby is house broken and does not have accidents inside.
Baby enjoys a bath at the groomers. Baby will not guard her food toys or treats but if you take her food while she is eating she will eat faster before taking it. If on the bed or couch she is easily removed. Baby does not mind a bear hug.
Baby knows the command sit. Baby will play half fetch but especially enjoys tugging games with ropes. When the family is home she likes to be where they are and when home alone she is well behaved. Baby likes dry food.
Upon intake Baby was energetic and receptive to introduction and loose for all handling. Counselor was able to scan for microchip (negative) collar and photograph. Baby was insistent on leash but responsive to guidance.
