07/19/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: I was assaulted today– with kisses that is! Ayden, just a puppy, licked my face and neck until it was sticky. He was like a magnet; when I would sit on the bench, he’d come barreling over to get next to me, and start licking away. And then he’d manage to sneak behind me, placing his paws on my shoulders, piggyback style, and kiss again! I thought that I might be something special, that we made a once in a lifetime connection, but when a fellow volunteer came into the yard, he attacked him with smooches too! Even climbing up his legs to get in prime position to kiss! And then, he proceeded to kiss another male dog through the fence. Alas, it seems Ayden just loves everyone, human and canine alike. Ayden is an ideal pup. Wiggly, attentive, seems to have some housetraining, dog friendly and extremely playful and fun. He will need pet parents that can provide him basic obedience and training, but he will make such an awesome companion. Come meet Ayden at the Brooklyn Care Center today!
07/16/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Ayden came into the care center as a stray so we do not have any information on his behavior in a home. The finder stated he was very calm and friendly with children and teenagers allowing all handling from them. Upon intake it was noted that Ayden’s body was loose and wiggly, and was receptive to introductions. During SAFER Ayden was distracted but often distracted by his surroundings. He allowed the assessor to conduct all handling items without issue, but was distracted during the tag interaction. During the resources portion of the assessment Ayden was easy to handle when engaged with the food and rawhides, and he only showed minimal interest in the toys. When off leash with other dogs, Ayden was reported to be a bit uncomfortable with higher energy dogs, but he is tolerant. Ayden has not shown any behavioral concerns while in the care center, so the department feels Ayden can be suitable with an adopter with an average amount of dog experience. Look: 2.
