12/22/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Miss Allie was surrendered to our care as the family had too many pets. She lived with a Jack Russell Terrier and a lab mix and was playful with both. We’re told she loves other dogs, approaching those she meets to play. She’s playful with the teenager in her life as well. Housetrained, crate trained, she slept in her crate at night and was always thrilled when her people came home from work jumping up on them in greeting. Allie is gorgeous, slender and elegant in a well groomed caramel color coat. She confirmed her housetraining skills when we walked out the door. She pulls on the leash so will benefit from some leash training, and because she likes treats she’ll be easy to train with reward based training. She takes her treats very gently after showing off her sit. We’re also told that she barks when someone new comes inside, but after approaching and sniffing she’s welcoming as the person is no longer a stranger! Allie has a sweet personality, shyly playful and ladylike. I could tell she wanted to play with toys but the toys in the pen had been there a while and she needed a clean one. As soon as I brought a clean toy into the pen she sniffed, she played and shook it around. Such a diva! Adorable! Joining me on the bench she kissed/nibbled my ear and with that we sealed our friendship. Fun, gorgeous and adorably engaging, Miss Allie is hoping to begin her happily ever after today with you.

12/22/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Allie is uncomfortable and anxious when interacting with other dogs. Her owner reports that she lived with a large and small dog and was submissive but playful. Based on this information, the behavior department recommends Allie be allowed time to acclimate to her new home before being introduced to any resident dogs. When off leash with other dogs, Allie greets the helper dog and shows continued interest in reapproaching. She becomes a bit anxious while out in the yard, beginning to whine and pace. 12/24: Allie ignores the other dog and keeps to herself while exploring the yard. She becomes aroused and uncomfortable when greeting other dogs through the fence and when a handler nears, she growls and jumps on them.
