12/12/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Surrendered to our care along with his littermate Feisty when their owner lost her home, Shago comes to us with wonderful comments. He’s lived with children and is gentle and affectionate with them, is housetrained to both go outside and use wee wee pads, loves toys and knows ‘sit’, ‘come’ and ‘stay’. He’s calm and quiet, friendly, gently affectionate and well taken care of. His volunteer walking log is filled with great comments, which boiled down to two words all say “sweet dog”, and he certainly is. Shago went potty the moment we were outside, his leash manners are lovely, he posed for photos when we stopped in the park and again in the back yard taking his reward treats gently. As we sat together Shago lay his head in my lap for some petting, reaching up to give me some kisses and then burrowed his head in my chest. In group play he greets other dogs politely but doesn’t really engage. Of course he’s used to his sister with whom he was playful and loving. Shago is adjusting to this strange new place as best he can. Volunteers already love him for his calm, gentle personality and you will too. Ask to meet him today.

12/08/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Shago has displayed brief interest in interacting with other dogs, but mostly keeps to himself. He arrived into our care with another dog whith whom the owner described their relationship as “playful and loving”. The behavior department recommends a pre-adoption interaction for Shago before placement into a home with another. He may do best in a home with a calmer resident dog. When off leash with other dogs Shago is nervous. He allows the helper dog to sniff him but stiffens. 12/9 update: Shago greets well and is interested in solicitation but does not engage. 12/10: Shago greets politely, then keeps to himself.
