05/20/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
05/20/15 13:22 BASIC INFO Sandi is an 8 month old spayed APBT mix. Her family got her from a friend 7 months ago and surrendered her due to lack of time. Sandy had knee replacement surgery 10 weeks ago and has a plastic knee cap and pins. SOCIALIZATION Sandi is friendly and outgoing with strangers. She lived with children ages 10 months, and 4, 8, 15, and 17 years old and was relaxed, playful, and respectful with them. She plays somewhat rough with adults but gentle-exuberant with children. She’s never bit anyone. She lived with a cat and was relaxed, playful, and respectful of him. BEHAVIOR Sandi is anxious when home alone and barks often, including during storms. She’s friendly when someone takes her food/treat/toy, moves her off furniture, holds/restrains her, wakes her up, bathes her, and brushes her. She’s friendly with strangers that approach her home/family. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Sandi’s family describes her as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, pushy, excitable, anxious, and very high energy. She’s very loving and follows her family everywhere. She loves running around and playing fetch, tug, chase, and wrestling. She likes balls and ropes. Sandi lived indoors and ate dry Pedigree food twice daily. She slept in her crate that’s always open. She’s housetrained and doesn’t have accidents. She potties anywhere outside and on wee wee pads inside. She barks and chews household items (shoes that are left out, garbage, etc.) while home alone. She hasn’t been taught commands. She went for brisk walks and pulls very hard on her leash. INTAKE Sandi had a super loose wiggly body, open mouth, and wagging tail during intake and handling-scan (positive), collar, petting.
05/23/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Looking for a dancing partner? Sandi is looking for you!! An energetic beauty surrendered to our care as her family no longer has time for her, we’re told that Sandi loves to run, play fetch and tug and to wrestle. We’re also told she’s housetrained, and will also use a wee wee pad inside, sleeps in her crate which is always open and lived well and respectfully with a cat and a pack of kids ages 10 mos., 4,8,15, and 17. Sandi is playful and funny, showing off her bouncy “dance moves” as we play in the backyard. Her coat gleams with good care, her weight is perfect for her size and she’s friendly and everything a young dog should be. She’ll need some leash training and/or a harness as she pulls on the leash in her puppy enthusiasm to explore her surroundings. Sandi’s other claim to fame is a bionic knee as she had knee replacement surgery almost 3 months ago! It’s said that replacement parts are generally better than our original parts, and Sandi’s great energy is certainly a testament to that. Sandi is looking for an active home as she needs exercise, structure and of course, lots of love. Dancing, jogging, she’s up for it all and hopes to find her human equal today.
