SEPT.2015
A volunteer writes: Mufasa……the king of the pride of lions from the Lion King and so appropriately used for our gorgeous boy. Stunning, magnificent, breathtaking, imposing, awe inspiring – take your pick, or find more words to describe him. He was surrendered to our care in August, and we’re told that he lived with 3 adults and a 13 year old, can play a bit rough (considering his size I’m not surprised), lived with another dog, and with a cat. He was playful with the other dog and respectful of the cat. We’re also told he’s housetrained when walked 2x per day, is crate trained and afraid of baths. He showed off his housetraining skills, and then gorgeous leash manners – he has a sexy walk/glide and never pulls. We/he received a ton of compliments and comments as we walk. There is no missing him on the street! I tethered him for some photos and he’s a perfect model, making soft eye contact, tilting his head when I make kissy sounds at him, and not losing patience as I snap away. As he weighs more than I do our walk on the street was short and we head to the back yard. He’s gentle, calm, sits when asked, takes treats gently, explores the pen, politely greets a small dog stopping by to say hello and ignoring a flock of pigeons who land at our feet and then fly off. Leaning into me as I take some notes, he’s friendly and gentle but gets nervous at loud and sudden noises. Our big boy is looking for a large space in which to thrive, and a new and experienced family to take care of. He will certainly be the pride of your family!
