The Owner got her from the previous owner, the owner surrendered Henni because the NYCHA does not allow dog where the owner lives. Henni has no health problems. Henni has live with 3 children ages 13 to 18 she is relaxed and playful around them and other children he does not know. She has not interacted with adult strangers until today so the owner has no idea how he would react if she is approached. Henni has lived with another red nose Pit Bull mix, henna was relaxed and playful with the other dog, however Henni can be rough with dogs that does not know. Henni has never bitten anyone. Behavior: The owner stats that Henni is not bothered when some moves her food or treats while she is eating, when someone takes her toys away or when someone disturbs her while sleeping. The owner does not know how Henni is around loud noises such as storms or fireworks. For a new family to know: The owner describes Henni as friendly and playful with a very high activity level. Her favorite activity is running off her leash in the dog park once a week. In the home Henni tends to follow the owner around the house and is kept mainly indoors. 06/19/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: I have met a few dogs at the care center who seemed to wear a beret, quite becoming for a young lady like Henni, a “manicured” female relinquished to us because of housing issues. Henni is statuesque. She has been outstandingly cared for by her former masters. She lived in harmony and played with the children of the house and even at some point with another Pitie. She is crate trained(for long hours), house trained and frequented a doggie playground once a week. She is known to warm up slowly to strangers but is friendly and extremely playful , loving and lively. I met Henni at the beginning of her stay. She was quite wary and walked at first, the tail between her legs and her hackles up. After a while spent together, she relaxed a bit although not fully. She accepted treats from my hand, even sat from me and accepted my caresses without flinching. She was interested in meeting another female…who growled at her. Henni did not seem to think that it was a problem.. A walk around the block did relax her a bit further. The sight of kids coming out of the park made her wag her tail…I need to see a little more of Henni but she seems like a nice dog, a family dog who fell out of luck and needs a new home, a new owner, to fall back on her 4 and be the loving, happy, lively pet she used to be…Henni is at the Manhattan Care Center. Come and meet this beauty very soon.

The behavior department feels that she may do best with an experienced adopter. This dog is fearful and need time to warm up. We also recommend a home without young children; older children can be considered pending interaction. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, shy body language , mouth closed, lip long, ears likely back, may lip lick. Tag: 2.
