Zeus’ fine features and perfect markings may make him look like an elegant gentleman but don’t be fooled…this sweet boy is a total clown! In the backyard he just wants to be close to his person and enjoy some gentle petting, snuffle up treats or spend a bit of quiet time together but once we hit the street Zeus’ puppy genius for finding ‘toys’ really comes out to play. A traffic cone? That’s just another word for chew toy, right? A fallen tree branch? Yup, definitely picking that treasure up! For the rest of our walk he alternately carries and drags his prize with a branch-filled smile and is more than happy to play a gentle game of tug-o-war with me too, though he never guards his things and drops it easily before we head back inside. Zeus is a real character and arrived at the Care Center with great comments from the owner who surrendered him due to housing issues. We’re told he’s very active, playful and affectionate with children, though like most young dogs he doesn’t realize his own size and can accidentally knock smaller children down, and he greets all visitors with soft manners and an excited wigglebutt. While his past socialization with other dogs was very limited he’s interacted well with his neighbors in the Care Center and meets fellow pups in the street with easy-going good manners too. Zeus comes with a gentle and loving nature, no handling issues, apparent house training and a host of commands (sit, no, drop it, high five, and stay) and will make a wonderfully fun and friendly (not to mention gorgeous!) addition to almost any home.
