09/02/15 17:49 Basic Information: Zeus is an 2 year old mastiff/american bulldog miz. He has no known health problems or injuries. The surrender states the like how friendly and playful he is. Social Life and Personality: Zeus has been around children 2 years old up. He is relaxed around the children. He has been around a small dog and is relaxed with the dog. He has not been around cats to know his behavior with them. Zeus is house trained and does not have have accidents in the home. He has bhe surrender describes as playful, excitable, affectionate, mellow, and friednly. Behavior: Zeus is not bothered is someone touches his food, bones, or treats. He is playful when someone takes a toy away. He is not bothered when removed from furniture, given a baths, or when strangers visit. For a New Family to Know: Zeus knows the command sit. He is used to leashed walks and playing in the yard 4-5 times a day. He likes to play fetch with balls. When people are home he likes to be in the same room as them. He is well behaved when home alone or in the yard. He is not bothered by loud noises. He is sued to eating dry dog food twice a day. He likes to sleep on a blanket. Intake Behavior: Zeus mantained a soft body throughout the intake. He solicted attention but jumping up. He allowed all handling and did not show aggressive behaviors.

09/14/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Zeus pulled hard on the leash; he was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body, low wag. He was calm and relaxed during handling. He remained relaxed when playing tag with the assessor and jumped up on the assessor in a friendly manner once movement ceased. Zeus did not resist being handled while eating, and was easily pushed out of the food bowl. He was easy to handle when chewing on the toy and had minimal interest in rawhide. Zeus was surrendered to the care center; upon intake, he maintained a soft body and solicited attention by jumping up, Zeus allowed all handling. His previous care takers report that Zeus has been around children aged 2 and up and is relaxed around the children. He has been around a small dog and is relaxed with the dog. While at the care center he has been used as a social group greeter dog during off leash, socialization time with other dogs. His previous care taker also described Zeus as playful, excitable, affectionate, mellow, and friendly and stated that he is not bothered is someone touches his food, bones, or treats. Zeus remained friendly and showed no behavioral concerns during the assessment. The Behavior Department feels he can go to an average home. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft, and jumps on assessor once movement ceases. Squeeze 1&2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are back. Food: 1. Dog lifts head and ceases eating when you reach to pull the bowl away or push him out. Toy 1: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the toy. Rawhide: 1. Minimal interest in rawhide, dog may smell and/or lick, then turns away.

***Zeus is a social group greeter and helper dog.*** When off leash with other dogs Zeus solicits and will engage in running play with both males and females. He will offer correction when mounted but will pursue his correction. He may become sexually motivated and become frustrated when he is not able to mount. 9/4 update: Zeus greets other dogs politely and is interested but does not engage in play. He may become sexually motivated with some dogs. 9/5 update: Zeus is social, greets politely and attempts to solicit play. He may engage in play briefly and becomes sexually motivated with some dogs. 9/8 update: Zeus greets the other dog politely and engages in brief bouts of play when solicited. He will offer correction for pushy behavior. 9/9 update: Zeus is social and playful, engaging in rough running play with both males and females. He is a bit sexually motivated but responds well to correction. 9/10 update: Zeus is social and engages in play based on the other dogs’ playstyle. He is respectful with non-playful dogs and may become sexually motivated with some dogs but takes correction well. 9/11 update: Zeus continues to be playful with both males and females but may become status seeking with an anxious male. 9/15 update: Zeus is social and respectful toward a more nervous dog.
