A volunteer writes: Shhhhhh…..don’t tell Zeus he’s not a lap dog! Yes, all 109 lbs of him just loves to snuggle, and he’ll drape himself over your lap and be very content with some loving! He’s a gorgeous dog, low key, friendly and I found his favorite scratch place is on his nose and between his eyes…..He closes his eyes giving in to sheer bliss as he I rub his nose. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh………. Zeus was surrendered to our care along with his mother and siblings as their owner lost his home. We’re told he’s housetrained, friendly and outgoing to all people, lived with a 5 yo child and was relaxed and
playful with her, growls at cats through the fence, and played exuberantly with other dogs in the home. He showed off his housetraining skills the moment we were out the door, and has good leash manners until he discovers a scent he absolutely must investigate and then pulls towards it. Several people on the street wanted to meet him and he was relaxed and good mannered, and as we stood chatting he gave me a big stand up hug!! Zeus took my treats gently and spit them out equally gently when not to his liking, but we’re told he loves chicken, vegetables, rice and beans – so perhaps he’s used to a better treat than I provided. It’s clear he loves other dogs, greeting others politely through the fence and as one dog on the other side leaned against the fence he licked him hello. A proven family dog (who will chew shoes if they are left out!), he’s an awesome, cuddly, snuggly, affectionate, big baby who’s looking for a new family to take care of. Ask to meet our boy today.
