08/29/15 16:14 DOG INFORMATION SHEET Where did this dog come from? Zeus originally came from a dog breeder from the Bronx WHY ARE YOU BRINGING THIS DOG IN? Owner stated she is moving and will not be able to take the dog with her. RELATIONSHIP Owner had Zeus for about 6 months. PEOPLE Zeus lived with 2 adults Does he get along with children? Zeus is very playful and hyper, smaller children might have a harder time around Zeus Does he get along with strangers? Owner stated Zeus gets excited around everyone and just wants attention. Describe his behavior: Zeus is a very high energy dog who loves people but is terrified of other dogs, He will back away from dogs, hair stands up and barks. He has never had any interaction with other cats. Zeus tends to have accidents in the house a few times a week but will usually hold until he is taken out. Zeus loves baths, and being brushed, he does know the commands sit, stay and paw. Being high energy, Zeus loves to play fetch, tug of war and running around. He is somewhat crate-trained as the previous owner stated she would only use it when traveling. When Zeus gets too excited, owner stated the best way to calm him down is to pet him. PERSONALITY Loves to play, is very active Is more quiet, shy; less active Likes to be petted, hugged ect. HABITS Zeus was fed both wet and dry food mixed together. The brand was pedigree. Zeus came to our center as an owner surrender. It is reported he lived with 2 adults. Owner reports around children and adults Zeus is playful and hyper. Behavior around cats is unknown. Zeus pulled hard on his relief walk. Zeus was difficult to position for SAFER assessment items, very high energy and in constant movement. Once settled, he allowed his head to be cupped in assessor’s hands, tail wagging. Zeus displayed high energy and movement in between Sensitivity passes, body soft, wiggly, tail wagging. He was distracted and unresponsive during Tag game, body soft, panting. Zeus mouthed assessor’s hand with no pressure during both Squeeze attempts. Zeus lifted his head and ceased eating when approached by assess-a-hand. He never resumed eating, but low growled at the hand itself. He took Toy away, body a bit stiff. Zeus took Rawhide away, settled with it and bit the hand as it approached. Zeus rushed towards the helper dog, hackles raised, barking, tail well above spine level. Zeus must be placed with a New Hope partner due to reactivity and biting the assess-a-hand. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog is active and focused on the Assessor and all other stimuli available. His body is soft, tail wagging, panting, displaying high movement between attempts. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor. He is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1/2: 2. Dog gently places his open mouth over the Assessor’s hand without applying pressure. Food: 4. Dog lifts head and ceases eating when you reach to pull the bowl away or push him out, growls. Toy: 3. Dog takes toy away, keeps a firm hold. His body is a bit stiff. Rawhide: 5. Dog attempts to bite. Dog-dog: 4. Dog rushes in, hackles raised, barking, tail well above spine level.
